CHEVAL BLANC ST-BARTH ISLE DE FRANCE / A new architectural concept
Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France evolves
Sophisticated and drawing from a variety of inspirations, the French designer Jacques Grange has brought his refined touch to the property and its 19 new rooms and suites. The world-renowned landscape designer Madison Cox unveils his harmonious tropical gardens, where amid exotic flora stands The Constellation of Pegasus - the signature work of the artist Jean-Michel Othoniel.
Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France expands
On the hillside, overlooking the Caribbean Sea with breathtaking views of the entire Baie des Flamands, 19 new rooms and suites afford a new panoramic view toward the beach: a unique coastal perspective that complements the sightlines from each seaside villa. As a Maison dedicated to leisure, Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France affirms the warmth and intimacy of its surroundings.
Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France welcomes Jacques Grange
Jacques Grange has conceived a new interior design for all the rooms, which have views over the Caribbean Sea, as well as for the lobby, the restaurants and other public areas.
Grange’s project is inspired by the island rhythm of life as exemplified by a Cheval Blanc seaside holiday home.
With a profound attention to detail and comfort and a careful selection of sophisticated materials, Grange orchestrates objects, textures and eras of style, the result of a lifetime of travel and his collector’s soul. Aboriginal multi-colour pointillism meets the geometry of indigenous Werregue baskets in the unique atmosphere of the Caribbean.
Grange’s vision, contemporary and discerning, lets him interpret the traditions of Cheval Blanc with a local approach, reflecting the sublime lifestyle and discrete charm of St. Barthelemy.
A stroll in the tropical gardens designed by Madison Cox
Created by landscape designer Madison Cox, the gardens at Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France are curated to grow in harmony and intimacy with the countless species of trees of the island. The plants are selected and matched according to their density and their colours. Flowering bougainvillea frame verdant fruit trees as palms sway with the movement of the breeze. At every turn, guests discover another aspect of this many-faceted gem.
The Constellation of Pegasus by Jean-Michel Othoniel
The artist Jean-Michel Othoniel created The Constellation of Pegasus, a mobile sculpture that stands at the centre of the tropical gardens. Guided by three key principles - travel, beauty and alchemy - the artist turned his gaze to Maison Cheval Blanc and the starry skies of St. Barthelemy. As a contemporary dreamer, he created this abstract galaxy from glass beads as a link between sky and land, and once again places art at the heart of the Cheval Blanc Maisons.
A new Kid’s Club
Le Carrousel - a space for games, activities and experiences - is a new area dedicated entirely to children, where little ones can laugh and play. Family life is at the core of each Cheval Blanc Maison.
Le Carrousel lets both parents and children enjoy special moments and create beautiful, shared memories of family holidays, amid the sense of imagination and hospitality that epitomises Cheval Blanc.
New dining concepts
The culinary offerings at Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France expand with a new concept of restaurants facing the sea, also designed by Jacques Grange.
La Case de l’Isle serves a sophisticated menu with a Riviera theme: the very finest ingredients carefully selected by the chef for a delicate and gourmet cuisine.
La Cabane de l’Isle has a new location at the heart of the Maison, just moments from the sea. With continuous service from 12 pm to 8 pm, La Cabane de l’Isle menu is inspired by the Atlantic Ocean, with dishes from Europe to the Caribbean, to be enjoyed with toes nestled in the sand.
The only property in the Caribbean with the prestigious “Palace” status, Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France is ready to offer each and every one of its guests a unique experience on St. Barthelemy, filled with warmth and authenticity, in a setting that is private and intimate, welcoming and sophisticated, facing the most beautiful beach on the island.
